One of the first decisions that will need to be made before purchasing a vaporizer is weather to go with portable or table top? This will be based on your specific needs, budget and lifestyle.
You will be able to find all your vaping needs at Vape Store SA, as well as reviews and specs. For this article I decided to review the Boundless CFX a portable vaporizer that can be purchased here!
The Boundless CFX is a great choice if you're looking for an easy to use, powerful, portable vaporizer with a fast heat up time, complete temperature control, cloudy vapor, a fully isolated air-path and still affordable.
The CF and CFX are the first two portable dry herb vaporizers from Boundless Vapes and they did a really good job. They seemed to be aimed at the Crafty and the Mighty. The CFX is lighter as well as smaller than the Mighty, the look and feel of CFX in my opinion is better than the Mighty which is on the bulkier side. The CFX has a clean, modern look. Its exterior has a silicone coating to keep the vape cool during sessions and it is contoured for easy grip. The vape displays all the information you need on a 1.7" OLED display including a session timer, set temp, current temp, and battery indicator.
If you want the absolute best in portable vaporizers, I still have to say go with the Storz & Bickel Mighty for the reduced draw resistance, reduced cleaning/maintenance and superior overall vapor quality. However the CFX has a few really nice features; like heating up in as little as 20 seconds, offers a full temp spectrum can effortlessly produce fairly cool, smooth and large consistent clouds and the flavor is above average. The Boundless CFX also has a large chamber for longer or group sessions; the oven can fit roughly .5 grams and works well with small loads too. Utilizing a mix of convection and conduction heating via a ceramic heater with a medical grade plastic vapor path, temperature settings ranging from 38-221C, we get even vaporization from this vape, solid flavor and impressive vapor quality with extremely satisfying, visible clouds. And while it doesn’t completely reach the mark, The CFX has really good vapor production, especially for the price.
What I like best about the Boundless CFX is how quickly you get good vapor and how easy they are to use. If you’re a beginner this vaporizer is a no-brainer, but even for the experienced vaper I still think the CFX will impress.
Personally I have not tried it with concentrate as of yet but it does have the option of both dry herbs and extracts and includes a concentrate pod.
I prefer to start my sessions around 171’C and I’ll step up my session usually in 7 degree increments and then end it around 191’C. You’ll be able to tell the bowl is done when vapor density starts to get wispy, the taste is like slightly burnt popcorn and the herbs are a light to dark brown depending on the temperature you finished at.
The unit seems to be very reliable, durable, easy to maintain. Once you complete your session and the unit is cooling down, just twist off the mouthpiece, empty out the chamber and then brush off the screen.
Basically if you stay on top of the stock screen and brush it out after sessions, you shouldn’t have any problems. But if you are out on the go, loading multiple chambers in a row without cleaning that’s where the CFX can run into more draw resistance problems.
The CFX vaporizer uses two non-replaceable rechargeable 7.4v 2500mAh Li-Ion batteries and can be charged in as little as 30 minutes if you are charging via DC (wall outlet). If you are charging via USB, the CFX will take about 2-3 hours to completely charge from dead.
So in my opinion the CFX is a fabulous vape and can certainly hold its keep.
Happy Vaping All!
xx
